From 21 to 26 June 2026, the Summer School Light 3D Printing took place in beautiful Ascona, Switzerland. With 111 participants, it was a highly successful event!

The programme brought together researchers from across the world to discuss the latest advances in light-based 3D printing and biofabrication. It was a unique opportunity to learn from leading scientists, discover new technologies and gain a broader perspective on where the field is heading.

LUMINATE was well represented. Among others, Rodrigo Torres García, from the Biofabrication and Tissue Engineering Group at KU Leuven, presented a poster showcasing some of the latest results from his PhD research, carried out as part of the LUMINATE Project in close collaboration with BIO INX.

Beyond the lectures, the summer school created countless opportunities for networking, scientific discussions and new friendships. A huge thank you to Marcy Zenobi-Wong and the entire organising team for putting together such a fantastic event.
